Coach Chris Hartsburg brings a rich history of hockey experience to his role as the LECOM Sports Park Director of Hockey Operations and Coaching Development. A Minnesota native, Hartsburg's journey through hockey has been marked by significant achievements both as a player and a coach. His playing career was distinguished by a full NCAA Div 1 scholarship to Colorado College, where he excelled as a true freshman, contributing to the team's national ranking. His talent and hard work were recognized early when he was drafted by the New Jersey Devils, leading to a professional career in the AHL with the Albany River Rats, and later, championship success with the Colorado Eagles in the Central Hockey League.

Transitioning from player to coach, Hartsburg's impact on the sport continued to grow. He has been involved with numerous USA Hockey Selection camps and has represented Team USA as a coach on the international stage. His coaching career in the WHL, OHL, and USHL, culminating in a significant tenure as the Head Coach of the Erie Otters, has been highlighted by mentoring 20 NHL Draft Picks, 24 current and former NHL players, and 50 D1 Scholarship athletes. Coach Hartsburg's dedication to hockey, emphasis on skill development, and commitment to fostering young talent make him a pivotal figure in advancing the sport in Erie and beyond.
